PCHC: Peachtree Corners Homeschool Co-op

Here is a more detailed description of our 3 programs:

#1We are continuing with our Friday Co-op starting on the 2nd & 4th Friday mornings between August to December & January to April for 8 meeting days with a Presentation Day ending each term. We have homeschool classes for K-High School and their Preschool Siblings. We are currently gearing up to our Fall 2012 term. Our membership is OPEN

#2New this fall, we are adding Weekday Classes with tuition fees offered weekly on Tues & Weds. Some of the classes include Music-group & private lessons, HS Garage Band, Musical Theatre, Music Theory from Music Life Studio. We will be offering academic classes including: Math-Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, Economics; Science-Biology & Lab, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science (Geology); Foreign Languages: French, Arabic, Spanish, Latin, Speech, Debate AG: 1900s History Class for Boys & Girls, and more….

#3New for fall, we will begin with Year 4 from Tapestry of Grace (TOG). See Link: http://www.tapestryofgrace.com/year4/ As families register to explore the 20th Century, from the turn of the Century to today, we will Plan our journey together. TOG uses the history of the world to guide your whole family through an amazing humanities education including subjects: History, Church History, Literature, Geography, Fine Arts, Government, Philosophy, Writing & Composition.

One Day a Week Program – Grades 3-12

Atlanta Learning Concepts gets results with students. Tutoring, Social Skills, Communication, Small Group Classes, Computer Website Design, Programming, and Graphic Arts Design Classes provide much needed skill development for all types of students including special needs and gifted. The unique learner is sometimes under-served by traditional school systems and parents often find success with additional tutoring and small groups.

SPECIAL NEEDS students include ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia, PDD, and other types of learning differences. Instruction is multi-sensory, structured and sequential. Often, these students are very bright and have tremendous, untapped learning potential despite their learning challenges. While tutoring is offered to all ages, Atlanta Learning Concepts also has a spectacular reputation as a unique center that especially remediates, guides, and excites teenage students to use technology and other learning helps to fully demonstrate their performance potentials.

A long list of students who previously had low reading and math abilities, etc. have found success, raised their grades, developed study skills, entered college, and guided towards degrees and well-paid jobs. Students love the opportunities to advance academically, learn marketable skills, and perfect their communication abilities for friendships and work environments. All ages students are accepted.

LEAD’s aim is to create a vibrant home school community and to increase positive awareness about home education in the community at large by:

Providing educational activities such as classes, cultural arts excursions, field trips, parent support meetings and our on-line forums.
Providing social activities, including arts performances, visual arts presentations, seasonal parties, weekly park days and teen outings.
Supporting families new to home education.

DASCH – Dunwoody Area Support for Christian Homeschoolers

Dunwoody Area Support for Christian Homeschoolers (DASCH) is a support network for Christian families who have chosen to home school their children. Through co-op classes, park days, field trips, email lists, moms’ support meetings and other social events, we provide opportunities to connect with other homeschoolers.

We welcome all families who are willing to agree with our statement of faith and handbook. We have participating families in Fulton, Gwinnett, & Dekalb Counties.

Sugar Hill Homeschool Co-op

We meet on Tuesday afternoons for a ten week fall session and a twelve week winter session. Parents volunteer to teach or assist in classes. Students are grouped by age and have 2-3 class choices for two periods, with all students involved in a PE class the third. We offer field trips, moms’ nights out, support meetings, art contests, and an annual geography fair.

Peachtree Corners Homeschool Co-op

We meet every other week on Friday mornings from 9:15-12:45 at Peachtree Corners Baptist Church. Children of all ages will have a class to attend, while older children will have several classes to choose from.

Fall semester begins August 27th with our Kickoff Picnic and continues for 7 sessions until November 19th. Spring semester will begin in late January 2011.

Classes this fall include Geography through Art, Sign Language, First Form Latin, History of Science, Volleyball, Anatomy & Physiology and American Heritage history.

Welcome to the Home School Connection of Middle Georgia! We are a group of parents who have chosen home schooling as the means to educate our children with excellence. Classes, designed and taught by parents, are offered each Fall and Spring. We meet weekly to teach our children cooperatively a variety of subjects and/or enrichment classes. We also offer field trips and social activities. It is a great place for you and your student to learn and meet new friends. We are a private group and are not sponsored or supported by any other organization in any way.
