Art classes for Home School students with a focus on the interests and skill of the student

Art class taught with an emphasis on the interests of the students presented in a way that enhances their education. *Home School credit may be obtained*

In every assignment, students give personal expression to their artwork, learn to make choices, identify opportunities, and solve problems creatively.

Art refutes the idea of education as collecting and storing knowledge. Instead, the fun is creating and inventing and finding solutions.

Each class incorporates:

Art Production

Art History

Introduction to Art Styles

Artistic Movements

Art Media and Techniques

Art Criticism

Art Education Resource provides Art classes incorporating the advatages of traditional settings in a more personal environment. Educational concepts are given relevance by being tied to Art principles in these fun and informative classes. The student has the opportunity to determine which topics will be the focus of his or her own art education.

Drawing in Various Media

Painting Techniques

Calligraphy

Foundations in Clay

3-D Design

Introduction to Fiber Arts

Cartooning

Art Education Resource also incorporates local artists and studio spaces where additional hands-on experience can be obtained.

The cost is $149 per 6 hours, with all materials included. Please call or email to set up a time and day of the week that works with your schedule.

This is a two-year introductory program that includes most of the AKS/CRCT standards for the public schools, grades 3-6. (In two years, we can’t cover everything.) In conjunction with a lesson, there are always hands-on activities, such as experiments with data-keeping, games, puzzles, graphs, and demonstrations. Children learn by active participation; they also have information to share. Our classes are lively and fun. Students will learn to use the scientific method, a binocular microscope, balance scales, and other science equipment.

My objective is that children learn that science is fun and exciting and to be prepared for more formal learning in higher grades.
