Atlanta Learning Concepts gets results with students. Tutoring, Social Skills, Communication, Small Group Classes, Computer Website Design, Programming, and Graphic Arts Design Classes provide much needed skill development for all types of students including special needs and gifted. The unique learner is sometimes under-served by traditional school systems and parents often find success with additional tutoring and small groups.

SPECIAL NEEDS students include ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia, PDD, and other types of learning differences. Instruction is multi-sensory, structured and sequential. Often, these students are very bright and have tremendous, untapped learning potential despite their learning challenges. While tutoring is offered to all ages, Atlanta Learning Concepts also has a spectacular reputation as a unique center that especially remediates, guides, and excites teenage students to use technology and other learning helps to fully demonstrate their performance potentials.

A long list of students who previously had low reading and math abilities, etc. have found success, raised their grades, developed study skills, entered college, and guided towards degrees and well-paid jobs. Students love the opportunities to advance academically, learn marketable skills, and perfect their communication abilities for friendships and work environments. All ages students are accepted.

I’m a trained Waldorf teacher specializing in handwork, and I believe that developing practical skills with the hands supports a child’s growth in many ways. It builds confidence, problem-solving abilities, fine motor skills ,and coordination. It can also support many facets of the academic curriculum, like history, math, and science. I can bring crafts as an experience on their own or as enrichment to other things students are learning about. Just imagine how a class on weaving could support the study of Native Americans or the Industrial Revolution, dyeing for chemistry or color theory, sewing for math or any historical period.

I’m willing to offer anything from an hour-long activity to more in-depth classes that meet weekly for a series of weeks. I have organized many successful tie-dye parties and would be delighted to offer that to your group. I’m also very interested in offering instruction and guidance to a student who wants to design and create her own clothing.

I’ve taught kids and teens in many settings, including public libraries, Duke University’s Talent Identification Program, and Waldorf schools and am happy to provide references on request.
