Georgia Renaissance Festival

At the Georgia Renaissance Festival’s Field Trip Day, on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, students will experience 16th Century history and culture through reenactments, demonstrations, and a variety of workshops tailored by grade level to meet curriculum standards.
Upon entering the gates of the authentic English village, students spend the day
in the midst of historical characters such as King Henry VIII and his six wives, Leonardo Da Vinci, and others. Interactive workshops and demonstrations relate to a wide variety of subjects: English Language Arts, History, Social Studies, Music, Theatre, Science, and Math.
Students will be immersed in presentations of 16th Century Explorers, Language and Mannerisms of the Time, Tales From An African Traveler, Knighthood and Chivalry, and Renaissance Art and Music, to name a few.
Village artisans provide live instructional demonstrations of their time-honored arts of Glass Blowing, Weaving, Pottery, Blacksmithing, Spinning, Coin Minting and more.
We provide a detailed Curriculum Enhancement Guide with lesson plans, educational resources and suggested activities to prepare students for their day in the 16th Century.”
This year we are updating our curriculum, teacher resources and suggested student activities.  The information will be available on our website in November.
