Children LOVE KidsZone!
KidsZone is an Expo favorite and very popular with parents and children alike! Children enjoy various activities and guest speakers while parents attend the Homeschool Expo or Homeschooling for Excellence 101. Guest speakers may include animal shows, science shows, robot building, LEGO building, and much more! While parents attend Homeschooling For Excellence 101, their children can attend a variety of workshops given by speakers who will challenge them to become active and excited learners. Our goal is to remind children that learning is rewarding and interesting and that learning can happen anywhere, at anytime.

Dennis DiNoia has been immersed in education for over 25 years. He holds a M.A. in Education from the University of South Florida and has been a Florida State Certified Secondary Mathematics Teacher since 1988. He is affectionately known to all of his students as Mr. D. Mr. D had also provided his skills for many years to homeschool families as a private tutor. Four years ago a mom stated: “Mr. D, my son finally understands Algebra. Would you please just write your own book?” For the past four years, Mr. D did just that. The curriculum has been designed for students taking pre-algebra to pre-calculus. This math program infuses problem solving and treating math as a language as the basis for its delivery and offers the equivalent of a personal teacher in one’s home or co-op. Mr. D has had great success in assisting students to raise their test scores on SAT/ACT/FCAT and other standardized tests. Due to the need for assistance in this area, he created SAT/ACT preparation seminars and online videos based upon his years of experience in the school system and private tutoring industry.

Tina Robertson celebrated the graduation of two of her sons, whom she homeschooled from the beginning. She is best known for co-authoring the New Bee Homeschooler program, a boot camp guide for new homeschoolers while conducting workshops for new homeschoolers in Texas. Besides her love for new homeschoolers, she has created the popular free 7 step curriculum planner, unit studies and lapbooks for all homeschoolers. In addition to homeschooling for many years, her family has recently enjoyed living abroad for a year and a half in South America. Her sons will always remember trekking the Amazon rain forest. She is a lively and engaging speaker though she can’t sing, dance or craft, but loves history, geography and hands-on learning. Does organizing count as a hobby? Currently blogging at Tina’s Dynamic Homeschool Plus, she is still in the homeschool trenches.
