Don Brown

Don Brown is the nationally best-selling author of THUNDER IN THE MORNING CALM, THE MALACCA CONSPIRACY, THE NAVY JUSTICE SERIES and BLACK SEA AFFAIR, a submarine thriller that predicted the 2008 shooting war between Russia and Georgia. Don served five years in the U.S. Navy as an officer in the Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps and served in the Pentagon, which gave him an exceptional vantage point into both the Navy and the political workings of Washington. He left active duty in 1992 to pursue private practice, but remained on inactive status through 1999, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Two of his seven novels, TREASON and MALACCA CONSPIRACY, reached #1 on the prestigious Amazon bestsellers list for fiction in 2009 and 2010. Kris Bales

kris bales

Kris, a homeschooling mom of three, is author of the popular blog, Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers. Kris began homeschooling her children in 2002 after watching her book-loving first grade daughter grow increasingly frustrated as she struggled to learn to read. Homeschooling turned out to be a great fit for her family and, with one-on-one attention, her daughter soon learned to read. Years later, however, reading struggles surfaced again – this time with Kris’s son.

Despite a variety of approaches, her son saw only minimal reading improvement until Kris was introduced to Lexercise. Kris credits the Lexercise clinicians and their systematic approach to reading with helping her son become an independent reader.
