Scholastic Chess Tournament

Register for Chess Tournaments at the Southeast Homeschool Expo!

Friday, July 27th – Time: 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM

Saturday, July 28th  – Time: 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM

Two separate, unrated chess tournaments held at the 2018 Southeast Homeschool Expo! Format and times the same on each day.

Tournament Details

Where: Cobb Galleria Centre, Atlanta, GA

When: July 27, 2018 and/or July 28, 2018

Participants: Open to kids and adults who know the rules of chess. You do not need tournament experience, but please know all the rules of chess (how to castle, what a stalemate is, etc.).

Sections: Two Sections: Ages 9 and under, Ages 10 and over

Format: G10 d0 (each participant gets 10 minutes on their clock)

Time: 10:30AM-1:30PM

Entry Fee: $10 if you pre-register; $15 on site. All equipment provided!

Prizes: participation medals to everyone; top winner in each section also receives a gift certificate for a free event at CCSCATL and a tournament style chess set and board.

USCF: This is NOT a rated tournament and you do not need a USCF membership.

You may also register (cash and credit card) on site until 15 minutes before the tournament begins.

Refund and withdrawal policy: Please text Karen at 678-521-8386 or email if you must withdraw from the tournament. This will keep someone from having no opponent to play if you withdraw in a timely manner. You will receive a full refund if you must withdraw, as long as you notify us by 10:15 (15 mins before the tournament starts).

Who are we?

We are Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Atlanta (CCSCATL). We offer homeschooling chess classes, tournaments, and casual play at our beautiful chess center, located at: 2500 Old Alabama Rd., Suite 11, Roswell, GA 30076. Karen Boyd, co-owner of CCSCATL, homeschooled her children for many years until her eldest entered 7th grade.
